No. Because your plan file lives on your device and the math engine is open-source, the software continues to work even if this company ceased to exist tomorrow. Your file is in a documented open format you can always export. The engine code on GitHub is available for anyone to fork and run independently. We are structurally uncapable of holding your data hostage.

Free users can connect any OpenAI-compatible LLM endpoint by supplying their own API key — OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, a local Ollama instance, etc. The key is stored locally on your device; we never see it. This gives you a functional AI advisor without paying for managed tokens. The AI Concierge add-on is for users who prefer a turnkey managed experience with no API key management.
Plaid sync (Family tier and above) is an opt-in feature. When you connect a bank account via Plaid, the transactional data returned by Plaid is synced to your local device and processed on-device. WealthWhiz does not store or log the raw account data on our servers. You can disconnect any Plaid link at any time and the previously synced data remains only on your device.
If you prefer not to use Plaid at all, the bank CSV import (Plus tier) lets you export statements from your bank's website and import them locally — no third-party credential involvement.
Yes. $399 once, and you receive all Ultimate features for as long as the software exists — including all future Ultimate feature additions, with no subscription renewals. The AI Concierge is a separately billed add-on because it involves real managed infrastructure costs (LLM tokens, watcher agents) that cannot be sustainably priced into a one-time fee.
